As we all know, if you use a YouTube integration in Webflow, you’ll get a play screen like the one on the YouTube website and recommended content from YouTube once the video has ended. The same thing happens if you add a Vimeo link to a video block in Webflow. To avoid this inconvenience and have full control over your videos, there are different ways to do it. Let’s explore some of the best options that we at Broworks use in our daily work.
Dropbox video
This is not a well-known technique, but it is very effective since it allows you to use video as a background video that can autoplay in a loop. You can also remove the play button, sound, and play bar.
It's easy to add in Webflow project if you follow these steps:
- Add "Code Embed" block in a place where you want video to be
- Paste our code into that block
- Replace video link from code
- Adjust code if you don't want to be muted, in a loop or autoplay
- "Save & Close" the code editor and publish changes
Vimeo video
Typically, people simply use a Vimeo link in their Webflow projects, but using this iframe code provides greater control over your Vimeo videos. Adding this code to your Webflow project is similar to how you would add a Dropbox link, although the iframe code is slightly longer. Follow the instructions above to implement this code in your project.
Vidzflow - Video hosting platform
We researched various video hosting platforms for our clients that offer video control and can be easily integrated into our Webflow projects, and Vidzflow is by far the best option we’ve found. It’s free to host up to five videos with their branding, but if you want to host more videos without Vidzflow branding, in higher quality, and with larger file sizes, their plans are quite affordable. Their monthly subscription starts at $9 when billed monthly. The best aspect of this platform is that your website maintains peak performance, regardless of video size, quality, or the number of videos you host.
Integrating videos into your Webflow projects can significantly enhance user engagement and overall website performance. By using custom codes for Vimeo or Dropbox and tools like Vidzflow, you gain greater control over your video content, enabling autoplay features, background videos, and the ability to customize your player without unwanted distractions. Whether you choose to use iframe codes for Vimeo integration or leverage Vidzflow’s user-friendly platform, you can ensure a seamless viewing experience for your visitors. Remember to follow best practices for video embedding to optimize loading times and maintain high-quality visuals. By effectively incorporating video content, you’ll not only enrich your website but also drive conversions and keep your audience engaged.
